Frequently Asked Questions

What is ACP or ACM?

Aluminium composite panels (ACP), made of aluminium composite material (ACM), are flat panels consisting of two thin coil-coated aluminium sheets bonded to a non-aluminium core. ACPs are frequently used for external cladding or facades of buildings, insulation, and signage.

What material is used for the core?

ACP (Aluminium composite Panel) also known as ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) is a sandwich panel of two aluminium skins bonded to an extruded core of either Polyethylene or mineral core.

What is the skin thickness available?

Standard skin thickness for fabrication grade ALUCOSIGN® is 0.3mm, Architectural ALUCOPANEL® A2 has a 0.5mm skin.

What colour range is available?

ALUCOSIGN® and ALUCOPANEL® has a standard colour range of 30colours available from stock. We also offer customized color based on MOQ.

What type of paint is used for the surface coating?

ALUCOPANEL® has specialized coatings according to the recommended use for each product. Architectural panels are available with a choice of paint systems including Polyvinylidene fluoride (PDVF), Fluoroethylene Vinyl Ether (FEVE) and High Durable Polyester (HDPE). Sign and display panels have paint systems of Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and High Durable Polyester (HDPE); while roofing has Polyester (PE) paint.

What is the warranty?

ALUCOSIGN® has a 5 year warranty for internal and external use and architectural ALUCOPANEL® A2 has a warranty for up to 20 years.

What is the reaction to fire classification?

The European classification standard EN 13501-1 ranks construction materials in 7 classes with regard to their reaction-to-fire fire behavior: A1, A2, B, C, D, E and F. Euroclass classification system will rate also smoke (class s1 to s3) and dripping (class d0 to d2).

Is Alucopanel® easy to cut?

Alucopanel® can be cut on site using standard carpentry tools. Fabrication-grade panels can be folded and formed by using a router or V-groove blade. ACP is not suitable for laser cutting.

Why are there arrows on the protective film?

The arrows on the film are to help ensure a uniform direction is easily identifiable. Some finishes are directional and must therefore be mounted in the same direction to avoid differences in reflectional qualities.

Where can I buy Aluminum Composite Panel products?

ALUCOPANEL® manufacture both Aluminum Composite Panels and Coil Coating, we can export anywhere. Feel free to inquire and we will assist you accordingly.
